Composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, sung by the exemplary talent that is the melodious Shreya Ghoshal and Swaroop Khan and choreographedby Kruti Mahesh Midya, the spectacle features lead actors Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor as they relive the renowned and illustrious dance forms of Rajasthan. Considered an auspicious dance performed by Rajput women of Rajasthan, the dance form ‘Ghoomar’ is also traditionally performed by a new bride when she is welcomed into her marital home. A myriad of gracefulness and royal poise, the routine involves twirling in circles with perfectly coordinated hand movements and footwork. Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone as the legendary Rajput queen from the kingdom of Chittor, Rani PadminiShahid Kapoor portrays the role of her husband, Maharawal Ratan Singh, and probably the most daring of them all, the invader Sultan Alauddin Khilji, essayed with sheer ferocity by Ranveer Singh. The film also stars Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari.
